Easy Sign-In

Robust RF Communication System

Sign-In Using Room ID and Student ID

The sign in process takes just two steps:

  1. Each student enters the Room ID (which is displayed on the screen in the Convey:Insight application.)
  2. Each participant enters their unique student/participant ID. (ID required If using named roster or just hit Enter/Sign-In if using an anonymous roster)

Students/participants are able to login with a Convey:VR once a session has been started by the instructor.

A student or participant that is not included in the active roster chosen by the instructor cannot log into the current session. This prevents accidental log-ins.

This process is identical whether using our yellow responders or Convey:VR's. Convey:VR users either navigate to the login page on their broswer or snap the QR code with their camera and instantly link to the login site. (You can try the QR code on this page. It will work and add in a Room ID of 1883.)

Flexible and Easy Responder Sharing and Mix/Match

Because any responder can be associated or linked to any session by using the Room ID, it is very easy for instructors and teachers to combine classes and combine responders for a large scale polling exercise or game time.

To do this, simply have one instructor start Convey:Insight and select a roster with that contains all the participants. Everyone logs in as usual and the polling session proceeds as normal.

Responder types can be mixed and matched as you wish or need. Convey:Insight is the only software you need to install (along with being connected to your Convey:Enterprise server via the internet) in order to use all the various response devices in the Convey VR Constellation.

RF Technology for the Convey:Insight Yellow Responders

  • Responder <-> Base communications is RF (radio frequency as opposed to IR or Infrared),  It operates through typical venue barriers with no line-of-sight between the responder and base station required. Participants don't have to point their responder at a target to get it to register a response. They just click and go.

  • The RF subsystem operates in the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band and is compatible (interference free) with WiFi, Bluetooth and other RF networks working in the vicinity.

  • Each Base station has a unique (all space and time) network identifier (MAC address).  Since responders can “see” base stations in adjacent venues (RF penetrates walls),  each responder is prompted to identify which base station to connect to by entering a short 1-4 digit “Room ID” (Base id).  The base station ID is displayed by the Convey:Insight application software.
